iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

The latest Chinese jailbreak developing team, TaiG has recently released iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak utility to the public. Their TaiG v 1.2.0 is the updated utility, which could be used for iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak. If you are having any iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 8.1.2, it can be jailbroken with this. Since Apple’s latest firmware iOS 8.1.2 also has not plug the kernel exploits used by the TaiG team, iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak is still possible. So this might be great news for future iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak users also.

What are the Pre-requisites for iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak….?

·         “Find My iPhone” feature should be turned off. (Go to Settings, select iCloud, turn off “Find my iPhone”.)
·         Touch ID and Passcode should be disabled. (Go to Settings, select Genral & Passcode and disable it.)
·         Restore the firmware of your device to iOS 8.1.2 using iTunes. Do not use OTA method, since it may cause iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak to fail.   
·         Important data and settings of your device should be back up using iTunes or iCloud.  

Supported devices for iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak are iPhone 6 Plus, 6, 5s, 5c, 5, 4s, iPad 2, 3, 4, Air, Air 2, mini 1, mini 2, mini 3 and iPod touch 5.

iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak on Windows PC

1.      Connect your device to your PC by USB cable.
2.      Extract TaiG zip file on to the desktop.
3.      Right click on TaiG icon and run it as administrator. Please note that you have to uncheck 3K Assistant checkbox below Cydia checkbox. It will stop TaiG app store installation.
4.      Simply click on the big green button to initiate iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak process.   
5.      It will take some time for iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak. And do not disconnect your device while iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak is in progress.
6.      Finally it will reboot automatically. Cydia icon should be seen on the Home screen.

iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak on Mac OS X 

1.      Install Windows 10 Technical Preview on your Mac PC via Parallels Desktop.
2.      Install TaiG v 1.2.0 on your PC using Windows Virtual Machine.
3.      Then follow the above steps for iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak.


So now your device running iOS 8.1.2 is jailbroken successfully. You can download various tweaks and apps on to your device.
